Product Description
The H-ACDC-70 allows you to easily measure current through a wire running from a solar panel, wind turbine, battery charger, fuel cell, pedal power generator, inverter, radio, blender, or paddle wheel. SIZE: 3" x 2" POWER CONSUMPTION: .5 Watts The H-ACDC-70 has an output range compatible with most data loggers like the ones sold by LabJACK, National Instruments, Hobo, dataq, LabJACK, and more. What's in the box: (1) The H-ACDC-70 Sensor, 5 Feet of shielded cable 4 wire 22 AWG, 2.5mm power connector. The output range of this current sensor is shown on the graph in above image. As you can see this current sensor has a linear response. This current sensor will change its output approximately ~0.033V for every Amp of current it detects. When there is no current flowing through the sensor it puts out a default Voltage of 4.0V DC. If the wire you are monitoring has 10 amps flowing through it, then the current sensor will output about 4.330 volts DC. To increase sensitivity simply loop the sensed current path wire through the sensor as many times as needed to increase the gain to the desired level.
You will need to first secure the sensor using the four screw holes, and then hook up the green connector to your data logger or your hand held volt meter. Then you will need to pass a single wire through the round doughnut shaped sensor is shown in the picture above. The last step is to provide this sensor with operating voltage through the black power connector (2.5mm). This sensor needs 12V to 30V Volts DC to excite the sensor.
