1BEWARE: NOT a Monocrystalline Solar Panel
By Smartbuyer
There are very distinct differences between monocrystalline and polycrystalline panels. As the name implies, mono panels are formed from a single wafer, they are more efficient, produce more power per square foot, and they are more expensive to manufacture. Poly panels are formed from pieces of wafer, they are less efficient, and much cheaper to produce. Visually, you can tell the difference between the two very easily. A poly panel has a cracked up appearance of broken glass, while a mono panel has a uniform appearance. Check out this link out to see the visual differences: [...]This panel is NOT a monocystalline panel. In addition, Sunforce appears to be intentionally misleading consumers. Check this out...Sunforce calls this a "crystalline" panel on their website while their manual clearly says "monocrystalline". Anyone who knows the difference can see it's poly when they open the box, flip it over and the product label even says its polycrystalline.I notified Amazon of this issue and they are arranging return of this panel and the Sunforce charge controller I purchased with it. If Sunforce is this misleading about the panel, there's no way I am trusting their controller. While this purchase experience was disappointing, the customer service from Amazon was just outstanding! I explained the problem in a chat with an Amazon rep and had labels for return within 5 min. Truly outstanding customer service from Amazon...however, skip this solar panel if you know the difference between mono and poly.
