I hooked this piece of trash across the output on my 280 watt PV.The panel was rated at7.7 amps and 36.4 volts.The day was beautiful clear and bright.All wires were hooked as the Mfgr. suggested.with the arrester hooked in I got .02 amps at 46 volts.My batteries were only charged to 11.8 volts when I started to monitering them.I disconnected the Arrester and the current went up to 7.7 amps and the voltage dropped to 36 volts.The power into my Tristar TS-60 controller went from .92 watts up to 280 watts with the arrester removed. Midnight solar said the arrester must have been damaged in shipment.Thats malarkey.The arrester was very well packed and there was no damage to the package.I went to a automobile parts house and bought a 100 amp ckt. breaker for what the shipping charge would have been to ship the bad unit back to Midnight Solar.After paying for the bad unit and the high shipping charge, I wasn`t about to pay to ship this piece of junk back to them and maybe get the same thing back.
